Toss Up!® in the Classroom

Students will learn about the concept of probability when teachers use the Toss Up! dice game in the classroom. Each die has 3 green sides, 2 yellow sides and 1 red side. One activity lets third- through fifth-graders work individually or in groups to predict what color will be rolled most often when a die is tossed and then check their predictions by rolling the die and recording the results. Another activity helps students understand the concept of chance vs. strategy as they try to roll greens without getting any reds.
