: Give It Up!

Don’t think you have time to join the Million Minute Family Challenge™? Here’s a list of things you can put off to play a game with your family!
  • Updating your Facebook® page
  • One television show.
  • A nap.
  • Reading the paper.
  • Doing your nails.
  • Folding and ironing the laundry.
  • Checking e-mail or watching YouTube.
  • Going to the video store.
  • Emptying the dishwasher.
  • A great idea to enhance your Million Minute Family Challenge participation is to plan a family dinner and game night. The importance of families eating meals together has been documented many times over the years. This is a cornerstone in keeping the family unit strong, ensuring healthier eating and usually reduces the amount of food people eat at any one meal.

After dinner, clear the table and pull out a non-electronic game. The combination is a win/win for everyone and really gives a family the time it needs to open up and share important information that otherwise might be kept secret. It is also a time to unwind.

Games are a great unifier and bond builder. This is important for families and communities, as well as organizations and businesses. People who play together more successfully work together and get through crisis together.

There are probably dozens of other activities you could give up for one day just to spend 20 minutes having fun with a game.
