: Getting Started

Get everyone involved. Whether it’s the family coming over for Thanksgiving dinner, or a group of neighbors stopping by for an informal get-together, give everyone a role, from making a treat to bringing a favorite game. Having a part in the planning gives all in the group, from youngsters to seniors, a reason to participate and interact.

Make sure you have several games on hand to choose from. A big selection will:
  • Help insure that there’s at least one game each player will enjoy.
  • Make it easier to switch to another game if someone starts to win one particular activity a lot.
  • Provide variety, keeping everyone interested in making the party last longer.

  • This doesn’t have to be a complicated, structured evening. The idea isn’t competition and winning and losing, but having fun and interacting.
